My name is Caleb Metzgus and I am 13 years old. I began shooting a bow around the age of 3. When I was 6 years old I started shooting a compound bow. It was a Hoyt Rintec. When I saw how much more accurate it made my shots I was hooked and I started shooting local courses with my family. When I was 9 years old I bought a Diamond Edge that had a wide range of adjustment for length and poundage. I started shooting tournaments in Freestyle Cub division. At age 10 I shot my first Turkey and last year I shot a 200 pound Black Bear.

My tournament accomplishments: 2003- SWOBHA 3d shoot 1st place 2004-SWOBHA 3d shoot 1st place 2004-2007 shot a lot for practice, hunted squirls, birds… and some private tournaments and local leagues. 2008-joined a 4h archery club and started shooting statewide tournaments. 2008- 4h 5th 2008- 4h 2nd 2008- 4h 1st 2009- 4h 1st 2009- 4h 1st 2009-4h 1st 2009- 4h 1st 2009- 4h 1st 2009- 4h 1st overall in state In 2010 the 4h decided that you had to be 12 to shoot freestyle so I didn’t qualify for awards. 2010- Oregon Indoor Championship 3rd 2010- Oregon field Championship 2nd 2010- Oregon 3d championship 1st 2010- Oregon Tripple Crown as Cub 1st 2011- Oregon Indoor Championship 3rd ( 3 points from 1st and 3 x’s from 2nd) and had a robin hood X. 2011-Oregon Field Championship 1st 2011-Oregon 3D Championship 1st Winner-youth freestyle Oregon Tripple Crown 4H freestyle 2011 -Champion I have shot over a dozen robin hoods and one double robinhood. ( in 4h we always shoot single spot targets) 2011 NFAA Marked 3d Nationals- 6th

Target gear- Copper John ANTS ev 2 with CR scope and 4x lens, Specialty peep w/#1 clarifier, Vapor Trail Limb Driver rest, Cartel Stabilizer, Carter release, Gold Tip Arrows w/ VaneTec. Hunting- Spot Hogg Hogg It 5 pin sight, Sims stabilizer, Vapor trail Limb Driver, Carter release, Gold Tip arrows w/VaneTec and Tropy Taker broadheads.
